Created in 1964 as part of the Economic Opportunity Act in Duval County, the Northeast Florida Community Action Agency has been the driving force in eliminating poverty and encouraging self-sufficient individuals and families over the last four decades.
The agency exists to promote a better understanding of the causes of poverty and increase awareness of its existing conditions in our community. Our employees and volunteers are on hand to share expertise in eliminating institutional barriers to self-sufficiency and to serve as advocates for public policies to improve the quality of life for Northeast Florida’s poor.
