State Housing Initiatives Partnership 

The State Housing Initiative Partnership grant (SHIP) provides funds that assist in the repair and rehabilitation of homes. The homes must qualify as substandard, low-income single family homes and must be occupied by the owner.  The Northeast Florida Community Action Agency allocates monies from this grant to help homeowners make necessary repairs to their homes, giving them a safe place to live to allowing them to lead more productive lives.   Some of the services performed under this initiative are:

  • Roof repair
  • Repair to dangerous electrical conditions
  • Identification of adequate water supply and sewer lines 
  • Handicap accessibility
