Utility Assistance
As determined by Federal eligibility guidelines, the Northeast Florida Community Action Agency may pay home energy bills or other necessary expenses, including rent and mortgage, in times of emergency. The amount of the benefit payment is the minimum amount necessary to resolve the crisis. These services are only available to eligible households on a seasonal basis, allowing for assistance during one winter and one summer per year.
Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
Through partnerships with the Jacksonville Electric Authority and Florida Power and Light, this program enables head of households to maintain home energy service through direct payments to utility companies.
